The Advanced Grid Institute (AGI) is a collaborative partnership between Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) and Washington State University (WSU) on a mission to solve critical grid modernization challenges. Since 2018, the AGI has been working to accelerate research and development of advanced grid modeling tools and operational technologies our future power grid will require. This quarterly newsletter brings you research updates, timely announcements, news, events, and developments of interest to the AGI community.
EVENT RECAP
AGI Industry Day highlights the accomplishments and challenges in modernizing the power grid
The event welcomed members of the power industry to interact with government regulators and the research community to discuss the ongoing successes and challenges of implementing new technologies for a cleaner and more resilient power grid. Over 170 people attended the hybrid event. Attendees were from 76 different organizations and six countries including 14 utilities and 17 universities. Representatives from the US Department of Energy, Edison Electric Institute, State of Washington agencies, and staffers from two Washington U.S. Senators and one U.S. Representative were also in attendance.
