Triton at the Ocean Renewable Energy Conference

From Risk to Readiness: Mapping Environmental Effects and Information Needs

Triton’s Cailene Gunn and Kevin Duffy, alongside Judy Twedt from the Pacific Marine Energy Center and Mikaela Freeman from OES-Environmental, will be co-facilitating a workshop at OREC!

This workshop, titled “From Risk to Readiness: Mapping Environmental Effects and Information Needs” will bring together marine energy stakeholders—including developers and industry, researchers, students, and decision-makers—to discuss how different groups conceptualize the environmental effects of marine energy.

The goal of this workshop is to gather insights to help reduce barriers to information access and establish effective feedback channels so environmental monitoring research projects can better address end-user needs in support of advancing marine energy permitting and deployment. This workshop will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 1:00–3:00 p.m.

Applying Data Transferability to Simplify Marine Energy Permitting

Also at OREC, OES-Environmental will be hosting a workshop titled “From Evidence to Action: Applying Data Transferability to Simplify Marine Energy Permitting.”

This workshop will explore the concept of data transferability in the context of tidal and wave energy in the United States and its applicability to various scenarios by leveraging existing evidence and hypothetical marine energy projects.

The workshop will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 8:00–10:00 a.m.
